This Ramadan season we honor and celebrate unity in diversity. We are all different, unique from each other, from different walks of life, different beliefs, ages, and lifestyles. YOGAFLEX is a non-traditional approach to Yoga which incorporates blocks plates and resistance bands to improve mobility, muscle endurance, core strength, balance, and stability. It is designed primarily for athletes and weight lifters to overcome physical stress and is ideal for basically anyone wanting to be better, stronger, and ultimately healthier in body and mind.
A dynamic sequence of Asanas (Sanskrit for Yoga postures) generally activate our slow twitch muscle fibers which gives us longer holding power and endurance based strength. It teaches us mindfulness so we can be grounded and centered. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) on the other hand activates the fast twitch muscles which optimize cardio and raise metabolism but can lead to wearing down of joints. With YOGAFLEX we add HIIT movement based on better alignment to help break fascial adhesions and the addition of mobility drills which address accelerated recovery of the body by working on the specific muscles that are overused, under developed or misused. Rebalancing the compensations our body goes through brought on by one’s lifestyle. It gives one an intuitive understanding of the bodies needs and help one break free of habitual patterns which cause stress. The more important aspect is the healing and restoring of weak connective tissues, mobilizing of joints and realizing how flexibility complements all other forms of workout.
